Mystic Muse Journal for Creatives

My middle daughter loves to write- she has a collection of journals she has kept over the years. I wanted to find her a new journal and this time I was hoping to find a journal that had the "gold foil" on the outer edges. After comparing several different journals, I found this one made by Earth Moon Magick. Based on the visual presentation and product details, I thought this would be a great one to add to her collection. I ordered this and now that I have this home and inspected- I will say that the designer did put great effort into making this a stellar journal. The quality is undisputable, and my daughter is beyond elated with her new journal. This journal has a total of (200) pages, so I appreciate the quantity as well as the quality. The cover is well-designed, and the construction of the journal is very good as well. Based on an extremely positive experience, I would recommend this to other consumers.

This is a beautiful, full-sized journal with very shiny and attractive golden embossed surface patterns and glittery, smooth, gilded edges. The ribbon marker is a very classy touch. The design cover color is beautiful, though the cracked leather book effect is just "okay", it looks a little too large and blurry up close, like a zoomed-in image, not as realistic or convincing as it could be.
The paper thickness takes ink and gel pens without showing through too much on the other side very well, but anything made of wet ink like a felt-tipped marker will bleed through, so be careful of that.
This has a great size and feel to it, like a real book, and the design is absolutely beautiful with the shiny embossing, gilded edges and ribbon marker. The cracked leather printed effect is slightly less inspiring up close, but is not bad, and has a bold color which contrasts the gold effects dazzlingly. This is definitely one of the finer journals you could choose, and I am overall very pleased with it, enough to give it 5-stars despite a very minor shortcoming.

The quality construction, fancy design of the cover, and the gold page edges give this the look and feel of a solid product. It is heavy to hold.

This is such a satisfying journal to hold and use -- heavy and solid in the hands, well constructed, and of course beautiful. It truly feels like holding a hardcover book. The paper quality is surprisingly good, with only very minimal ghosting with gel pens and fineliners. At first I didn't like that the brighter blue ribbon bookmark didn't quite match the darker blue cover -- and then I realized that when you turn the journal in the light, the bookmark perfectly matches the cover's marbled highlights, a nice subtle touch. The gold foil design is crisp, even on the spine, and overall it's just a lovely package all around. Given its slightly larger size, I could easily see this being a journal, a sketchbook, a scrapbook, or any combination. (And the blue is even prettier than it looks in the description photos!)

I really like this journal. It’s a good quality and a really big size, which is nice for some purposes. I’d love a smaller size to be available, but for what it is, I’m very pleased with this purchase.
